ABOUT MERESEARCH INTERESTSMy research focus is understand patterns of plant diversity and abundance variation in tropical forests. In the past years I had documented patterns of forest structure and floristic variation in relation to environmental gradients (check my lattes CV, ResearchGate and publications for more details). More recently, I became interested in gaining a more mechanistic view on what is driving plant distribution, particularly on the role of plant hydraulics on plants ecological and evolutionary success. In my current research I am studying how different hydraulic strategies explains differences in distribution and abundance of palms from the Brazilian semi-arid Caatinga to Amazon rainforests (check my past and ongoing projects here). I am currently based at University of Campinas in a vibrant and productive scientific community. Do not hesitate in contact me if you are interests in collaborating or looking for opportunities to work with me. I like chatting, blogging and tweeting about plant (and other) sciences, tips and tricks in academia, woman and parenting in STEM.
